Chef Eldon Pico
Question: How long have you been a chef?
Answer: 10+ years
Question: How long have you been at this restaurant?
Answer: 3.5 years
Question: Who or what inspired you to become a chef?
Answer: The skills came naturally growing up in a family where my father did most of the cooking. We had animals and a garden and were fairly self sustained. With this profession I felt that I could explore my creativity, always have a job, never starve, and win a woman’s heart. How could you go wrong?
Question: What do you enjoy most about your profession?
Answer: The endless combinations and possibilities of cooking, baking and pastry to attain complete satisfaction of the senses.
Question: When you’re not in the kitchen what are you doing?
Answer: Spending time with the kids (five girls and one boy) and my beautiful wife. We like to work out together or have a family day at the beach or the park.
Question: What is your most popular dish?
Answer: People have said that I have the best crispy fish tacos.
Question: Your last meal on Earth would be??
Answer: Spanish rice with sunny side up eggs, fresh chorizo, and my grandmother’s handmade tortillas; with a side of roasted chilies with salt and lime.
Question: What's your favorite item on the Restaurant Week Menu?
Answer: Mongolian Lamb Chops, the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, hot, and cold. Incredible!!!
